The Hotel Amalurra hosted on May 23 the eighth edition of the initiative ‘Enkarterri breakfasts’, a forum that brings together social and economic agents as well as institutional representatives of the region of Encartations . The meeting that had as its title ‘Corporate social responsibility, employability and regional development’ served as the stage to award the certificates “ Enkarterri Green Corporate Social Responsibility Model “ eleven companies in the region, including Hotel Amalurra .

The certificate “Enkarterri Green” aims to be a distinctive for those companies in the region of The Encartaciones committed to the development of the area from values of sustainability and integral responsibility with the resources, people and the future of the region. Josune Badiola was in charge of collecting the certificate on behalf of the Hotel Amalurra. Beatriz Artolazabal, Minister of Employment and Social Policies of the Basque Government, participated in this meeting as well as the President of the Commonwealth of The Encartaciones , Esther Lasa , and the President of Enkarterri Group , Andoni Garcia .

During the event, various success stories of companies in which corporate social responsibility plays a fundamental role were presented, including the Lacilla quarry , the company in charge of exploiting the mining resources of the Lacilla de Sopuerta neighborhood since 1969; Vicinay Chains , a family business with more than 200 years specialized in the manufacture of chains and anchors for ships and oil rigs; or Zabalgarbi , the Bizkaia waste energy recovery plant, among others.

For his part, Hotel Amalurra , as a business and economic part of the Amalurra Project , has also earned recognition for his career since ecology and sustainability have always been present as pillars and intrinsic values of the life project Amalurra . Remember also that the Hotel Amalurra is part of a pioneering European program called neZEH as one of the pilot hotels chosen to implement sustainability measures focused on reducing both energy consumption and waste emissions.

Apparently, as commented by the minister, the Basque Government is going to promote new forms of investment in infrastructures, focused on rehabilitation, sustainability and energy efficiency. From Amalurra We see this positively because it means that we have walked and are walking in tune with the challenges and needs of our society, attending to the care and respect of natural resources for a common good and an integral development of people, the environment and the local economy.
