Spanish Pilot Hotels endorsing neZEH status!
The RH Corona del Mar (Benidorm, Alicante) has defined its first initiatives to improve the hotel energy efficiency and performance according neZEH status: Installing presence sensors, Implementation of an ozone system in the laundry to save hot water and reduce the use of detergents and chemicals and Replacing minibars by other models of lower energy consumption, among others. The implementation of these measures, which return of investment is foreseen for less than four years, will result in energy savings of 308,501 kWh per year, the equivalent to 89.633 kg of CO2 not emitted.
The Hotel Amalurra (Arzentales, Vizcaya) has been awarded with the first edition of the SOHO awards (launched by the Valencian association AVAESEN, ES) which goal is to recognize those hotels having implemented economic and environmental sustainability criteria through innovative measures. The Hotel Amalurra has been recognised by its eco-sustainable design, not only on the conception of its spaces but also on construction material used.
